A day long event with 4 seminar-style training events to choose from.

Morning  9 am - 12:15 pm:

Creating a Culture of Inquiry: Integrating Media Literacy Education into Everyday Practice - Dr. Faith Rogow insighterseducation.com

This relaxed, challenging, interactive session will review the foundations of inquiry-based media literacy education so that participants can walk out the door confident in their ability to create their own media literacy lessons and activities.

As we review how to transform theory into practical methods, we’ll look at ways to engage students in analysis of media documents and offer small tweaks to existing practice that make big differences for students. You’ll hear about what teachers and librarians are doing in other places, and examine the intersections between media literacy and related areas like information and digital literacies. Come with questions and learn how to guide students to develop the habits of inquiry that will help them thrive in a media-rich world.
