In this 4 hour session we will learn about the six major duties of a library board; the role of the director, board, and local government; the Montana Library Scene – what is MLA? MSL? And what exactly are federations? We’ll also spend time developing our advocacy skills and exploring ways to increase funding for the library.
Desired learning outcomes:
Attendees learn about the six major duties of a library board
Attendees learn about and discuss funding options for the library along with pros and cons of each
Attendees learn about advocacy and its importance
Attendees understand the role of different positions and agencies involved in public library work
