Description

Description

The description of the event.

In partnership with the Montana State Library, Humanities Montana pleased to offer professional development to librarians and library staff who want to expand their resources and programming around civic processes and democracy for their patrons. The Democracy Project is a project-based learning experience for teen library patrons—to research issues they are passionate about and engage directly with local government and community leaders to effect change. Lowell Jaeger, Julie Edwards, and Humanities Montana staff will facilitate a series of workshops for library staff to experience a version of the Democracy Project—from civic reflection to research, action, and public showcase—and see how it might work in their own library.

Session 4: Working Groups

Participants have time to collaborate and look to facilitators for additional resources as the chosen project develops.

This event will be held online through Zoom. You MUST register in order to attend (see link below) and registration is limited to 20 people. For those attending, please be ready to actively participate and engage - we HIGHLY encourage making sure your microphone and webcam work!
