A 6-part series, one class every other week, to introduce Montana librarians to ASPeN (Access to Services, Programs and eNetworks). Register to attend all 6 sessions, or choose only the session(s) you need. MSL staff team-teach this course, so you can get to meet the full team who are available to help you navigate and successfully utilize ASPeN.
Each class begins with a demonstration and allows plenty of time for Q&A or guided practice. Classes rarely last the full hour. Only the demo is recorded and posted to VImeo. Lesson 1 – ePass and registering; orientation to ASPeN; things you can search for and find in ASPeN (Chuck)
Lesson 2 – Update your own information – upload photos; difference between person and position and why we have that feature (Suzanne & Pam)
Lesson 3 – Update your organization’s information – the role of a master editor which is usually the library director (Amelea)
Lesson 4 – Update library personnel information; creating and editing positions; removing a position and/or marking it vacant (Pam & Suzanne)
Lesson 5 – Set up a certification track participation; registering to attend meetings and training events; your ToDo list (Tracy)
Lesson 6 – Earning and adding credits: system and independent; tracking your progress and submitting your certification application (Jo)
