This webinar will explore the process for librarians to utilize the Stategic Track to Montana State Library Certification. This new track utilizes the library's strategic goals as the framework for a professional development plan leading to certification instead of the requirements for minimum credits in 4 categories of librarianship. It is available only for librarians that are renewing their certification; participants must have already earned an MSL certificate through one of the legacy pathways to MSL certification.
Attend this training to learn how the track works. Just like the legacy tracks, you begin by selecting the track in ASPeN. But, before you can collect any credit, you must create a professional development plan that is tied to your library's strategic goals. We're using Moodle for participants to create and upload their plans. The Moodle environment also allows participants to interact with each other and for ongoing support from MSL staff. The Strategic Track also permits a participant to design a self-directed learning activity that could be independent research or an apprentice-style experience that is not a formal training event. MSL encourages librarians to seek out deep and rigorous learning activities and to earn appropriate credit for the knowledge and skills they attain.
This webinar will be recorded and posted to the MSL Vimeo Channel. Once the webinar is posted, the link below will lead directly to it.
