While every library board is a little different, there are similarities to making the most of a board’s time together. This interactive two hour presentation will cover modes of governance for board members including fiduciary, strategic, and generative, to amplify the board’s role in long term decision making and strategy, as well as upholding oversight responsibilities. We will also explore how to work with board and staff to build relationships, trust, and host more productive board meetings. After the workshop, attendees will be able to: ..Explain the three modes of governance and practice asking generative questions ...Explain the elements of trust ...Identify ideal board culture
