Description

Description

The description of the event.

Public libraries will receive training from the State Library and Counting Opinions on how to enter data for Count Week, a statewide data collection effort. Count Week is a one-week period where libraries will be asked to collect quantitative and qualitative data about library use. Libraries can use data from Count Week to simplify their data reporting for the Public Libraries Survey (PLS - the annual statistical report). Libraries will also have access to this data to help them understand and communicate about how the library is used by the public.

Outcomes

Directors that participate in this training will acquire the technical knowledge necessary for participating in Count Week. They will also understand what data is being collected and how they can access it for future use. Branch managers and frontline staff that collect data will also gain technical knowledge so that they can assist in data collection.
