Description

The description of the event.

News and culture increasingly exist online only. Unless libraries and their partners develop ways to preserve this digital-born information, it is in danger of being lost to future generations. Learn about the efforts of the Montana Digital-born News Workgroup and how joining Community Webs can help you preserve precious information.

Anna Trammell is the Community Archiving Program Manager with the Internet Archive where she manages community programs which support collaborative efforts to preserve and provide access to digital collections through web archiving and digital preservation. Trammell has previously managed archives in public libraries and universities. She holds an MLIS from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Archivist with the Academy of Certified Archivists.

Susie McIntyre says “I am a fourth generation Montanan. I was born and raised in Great Falls and I’ve worked at the Great Falls Public Library for 20 years—the last five as the Director. I am passionate about family, friends, social justice and joy. Libraries and access to information are a cornerstone of democracy and my life.”
