Tracy Cook, Cara Orban, Corey Sloan
Library boards spend a lot of time being stewards and setting priorities. This is important. Board members need to review the library's status and decide on priorities. Focusing only on those items can leave libraries scrambling to respond to changes in patron and community needs. This session will explore the generative role board members can play. This responsibility is about identifying and discussing key questions library leadership should consider when making decisions and designing services. Generative work can be inspiring and can help build understanding.
Tracy, Cara, and Corey are statewide consulting librarians for the Montana State Library. They support public and tribal college libraries in Montana by answering questions, facilitating strategic planning, and providing training.
