Jen Hossack
This session features a discussion of the topics listed below, and how Libraries and Librarians are charged with the upholding the integrity of our First Amendment. Also included is a review of current cases moving through the judicial system, a refresher on the Library Bill of Rights, and our role in this challenging climate.
Jen Hossack writes “Librarianship is my foremost passion. I love finding that ‘just right’ book for my students and empowering them to take control of their education through research skills and instilling a love for learning. I hold an M.A.T. in Elementary Education, and endorsements in Library Science, Psychology, and Dance Education. I am in my 13th year at Washington Middle School and my 19th year as school librarian. This is my 25th year in the library profession. I worked for 8 years at the University of Montana's Mansfield Library in Bibliographic Management Services. I currently serve as American Library Association liaison for MLA, the American Association of School Librarians National Chapter Delegate for the state of Montana, and as school library liaison to the Montana Shared Cataloging and Acquisitions committee for the Montana Library.”
