Kimberly Young, the Demco Book Doctor
Demco’s Book Doctor workshop is intended to give participants training on book care, protection, and repair to keep your collection in circulation longer. This workshop will provide a hands-on experience in which participants will get ideas for protecting books ahead of circulation and become familiar with several types of repairs through tried-and-true techniques. Workshop topics commonly include: basic page repairs, tip-ins, hinge and spine repair, book jacket and laminate application, and spine reinforcement. Course notes including links to other free resources such as videos, product directories and repair guide will be provided.
Important: Attendees should plan on bringing their own SCISSORS to this workshop. MLA will only have a limited number of scissors on-hand for those participants arriving without scissors.
