Emily Otis and Ben Nielsen
Get the flavor of what it takes to build a library kitchen, experience a taste buds-on program, and learn how you can spice up programming at any library to build community around cooking and develop patrons’ kitchen skills and food literacy. Emily Otis is the Creative Labs Librarian for the Kitchen Table at the Bozeman Public Library where she designs and implements culinary
programming for patrons of all ages. She has an MLIS from San Jose State University. She has worked in public libraries for 14 years with a focus on creating memorable programming that fosters curiosity, exploration, and community cohesion among patrons of any age group or walk of life.
Ben Nielsen is the Head of Adult Programming and Outreach at the Bozeman Public Library, previously he was the Creative Labs Librarian. He has an MSLS with emphasis in public libraries from the University of Kentucky and a Masters in Instructional Design from BYU. He is passionate about building creative skills in everyone and helping people come together in communities.
