Abstract This layer shows public land ownership for areas inside the Congressional forest boundaries, and National Forest lands outside the boundaries. The Montana Natural Heritage Program digitized the data from U.S. Forest Service "Forest Visitor Maps" (1:126,720) in February 1991. The data were updated in Fall 1992, March 1994, and March 1995.These data were removed from the State Library's web site when statewide land ownership data became available in 2000.
