Abstract:

This data is the raw data that was generated through the course of the Montana Land Information Act (MILA) grant “MILA_2023_02 Butte-Silver Bow Road Ownership Attribution Project – Phase 2”.This data was derived from City and County of Butte – Silver Bow Commissioner minutes from 1881-1977. The hard copy records were scanned and transcribed by Butte-Silver Bow staff and then mapped using historic and modern aerial imagery, georeferenced historic maps, USGS topo basemaps from ESRI, and current road centerlines as a reference.

Purpose:

The purpose of this data is to enable the City and County of Butte-Silver Bow to determine if they have prescriptive use/ ownership to the roads that run within its boundaries. This dataset contains the original data developed by Butte-Silver Bow.
