Abstract:

These data represent Montana's Tax Increment Financing Districts. Montana Department of Revenue cartographers or Local governments were contacted for this information. The BMSC acts as the point of contact on these boundaries for editing, schema changes, maintenance, web services and distribution. These boundaries were created based on the best available source data received from the counties: Legal Descriptions, County GIS Files, County Source Maps, or where data sources were not available the Montana Cadastral GIS Data was used. Digital data used as a base layer to create these boundary files were the best available source at the time: Cadastral (parcel lines), Geographic Coordination Data Base (GCDB), National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) Imagery, and 1:24,000 USGS Topographic Maps.

The last spatial adjustment to the GCDB/Cadastral data was made to this database was 3/9/2012.
