    <descript>
These data show the boundaries of the 1:24,000 scale, 7.5-minute USGS topographic maps of Montana. The polygon boundaries follow meridians and parallels of the NAD27 latitude-longitude lines that formed the boundaries of the 20th-century paper maps. All quadrangles that intersect Montana or that touch a quadrangle that intersects Montana have been included.Each polygon has fields for the map name and for four different ID code systems that have been used for the quadrangles. There is a field that shows the published year of the 1:24,000 scale topographic map that the Montana State Library has an image of.
