They are extracted from the statewide land ownership and managed areas layer maintained by the MTNHP. Only the outer Refuge boundary is included here. Many refuges contain "inholdings" that are not owned by the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS); but these inholdings have been deleted from this data set to simplify the representation of these areas.
