      <abstract>This is a true color orthophoto image mosaic covering the City of Red Lodge developed by Fugro Horizons, Inc. in conjunction with HKM engineering.  The digital orthophoto is in TIFF image format and was taken in the summer of 2007.  The photo was produced at a scale is 1:1200 with a fligh height of 3,400 feet and has a pixel resolution of 0.5 feet.  The orthophoto has been tone-balanced and mosaicked to reduce the visibility of seam lines between adjacent exposure of photography.</abstract>
      <purpose>The orthophoto was developed as a base map for the City of Red Lodge and was used to interpret several thematic layers using photogrammetric techniques.</purpose>

        <horizpar>HKM Engineering provided the surveyed ground control (total 6 points) for the registraton of the photo to a local coordinate system.  A survey report for these control points is available upon request.  All horizontal and vertical control should have been to an accuracy level of NGS Second Order or better. Final orthophoto accuracy is believed to meet National Map Accuracy Standards for orthophotography, which is 90% of all visible feature will fall within 1/30th of 1" at final map scale.  The remaining 10% of all visible featrures will fall within 1/15th of 1" at final map scale (1:1200).</horizpar>

        <procdesc>The orthophotograph was transformed from its local coordinate system to UTM NAD83 projection by the City of Red Lodge.  The survey report contained ground control in both local and UTM coordinates.  From this information, a custom projection file was created to transform the TIFF image from local to UTM projection.</procdesc>
