These data are digital aerial photos of the entire state of Montana, taken in the year 2005. The spatial resolution of the images is 1 meter. A collection of 3-band false-color infrared images was collected concurrently with the NAIP for about two-thirds of the state, and 3-band infrared imagery was completed for the rest of the state in 2006. The state is covered by 56 images with a total size of 115 gigabytes. - For download as color infrared compressed county mosaics in MrSID format at https://ftpgeoinfo.msl.mt.gov/Data/Spatial/MSDI/Imagery/2005_NAIP/UTM_County_Mosaics_CIR/. The state is covered by 56 images with a total size of 117 gigabytes. - For download as natural-color compressed 12-kilometer tiles in MrSID format at http://geoinfo.msl.mt.gov/data/Aerial_Photos/NAIP_2005. These images are in Montana State Plane coordinates, NAD1983, units meters. The state is covered by 2,718 images with a total size of 49 gigabytes. - As 3-band natural color GeoTIFF images. The state is covered by 11,797 images, each of about 125 megabytes. The images are in UTM coordinates, each of which covers a 3.75-minute quadrangle, or one-quarter of a USGS 7.5-minute topographic map quadrangle. To order GeoTIFF images from the State Library, select the quadrangles you want from the tiff index shapefile at https://ftpgeoinfo.msl.mt.gov/Data/Spatial/MSDI/Imagery/2005_NAIP/NAIP_2005_tiff_index.zip and send them to the Library, along with a storage device of sufficient size to hold them and return postage for the device. - As 3-band color infrared GeoTIFF images. The state is covered by 3,977 images, each of about 290 megabytes. The images are in Montana Stae Plane coordinates, units meters. Each image covers a 10,000 by 10,000 meter area. To order these images from the State Library, select the quadrangles you want from the tiff index shapefile at https://ftpgeoinfo.msl.mt.gov/Data/Spatial/MSDI/Imagery/2005_NAIP/NAIP_2005_Infrared_Files.zip and send them to the Library, along with a storage device of sufficient size to hold them and return postage for the device.
