The images cover an area extending 30 miles south and 10 miles north of the border, and the collection available from the State Library extends from 4 miles west of the Washington-Idaho boundary to Kenmare, North Dakota, about 90 miles east of the Montana-North Dakota boundary. Each polygon in the data set represents the region covered by one image, and the filename field gives the name of the image file. The image dates are also provided. There are 32705 images in the collection, and each image covers a square region 1500 meters wide. The image file names are based on the U.S. National Grid coordinate of the southwest corner of the images. We believe 98 of the files have incorrect names, and this discrepancy is noted in the attribute table. The purpose of this index is to allow users to locate the files they need to cover their area of interest. These were the source of the polygon boundaries and the following attribute fields: X_coord, Y_Coord, USNGID, IMG_Date, State, and NHA_ID 3001, Inc. Unpublished Material Each regional folder provided to the State Library had a collection of xml metadata files that appear to have a one-to-one relationship with the images. The Full_Date column of the attribute table was populated from the Calendar Date field of the Time Period of Content section of these metadata files.
