These boundaries were created based on the best available source data received from the counties: Legal Descriptions, County GIS Files, County Source Maps, or where data sources were not available the Montana Cadastral GIS Data was used. Digital data used as a base layer to create these boundary files were the best available source at the time: Cadastral (parcel lines), Geographic Coordination Data Base (GCDB), National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) Imagery, and 1:24,000 USGS Topographic Maps.
