Montana Base Map Service Center 2005 2004 remote-sensing image Helena, Montana Montana State Library The data set contains RGB digital mosaics of selected areas around Montana area at a resolution of 1 foot. The selected areas are Anaconda, Cut Bank, Deer Lodge, the Flathead Valley, Glendive, Great Falls, Havre, Hamilton, Lewistown, Miles City, and Sidney. The data have been removed from online distribution due to concerns over the horizontal accuracy of the images. Please contact the State Library if you require access to the images. These images should be used for reference for content only rather than measuring of the locations of any objects visible in the images. A shapefile index showing the area covered by the images is available at https://ftpgeoinfo.msl.mt.gov/Data/Spatial/NonMSDI/Shapefiles/Orthophoto_2004_Index.zip. The data were prepared by Positive Systems for the Montana Department of Administration, Information Technology Services Division, on behalf of the GIS Subcommittee of the Montana Homeland Security Task Force (Helena, MT). Digital images or aerial photographs were captured to support various governmental, municipal, tribal, and emergency management GIS activities.
