Supplemental Information

These boundaries were collected using a federated approach and using the best source documentation available. Please contact the Administrative Boundaries Coordinator for more information about this data or individual data layer metadata documents: https://msl.mt.gov/GIS/Boundaries This map service is to be used as a primary reference source and is not intended for use in site - specific planning. This is public information and may be interpreted by organizations, agencies, units of government, or others, based on needs; however, they are responsible for the appropriate application. The Montana State Library and the MSDI supports a federated database approach to all MSDI layers. Montana defines a federated approach as a method that supports the integration and utilization of data from multiple data providers, while retaining the primary maintenance responsibility with the provider. Most of Montana's framework data model efforts have adopted a federated approach that leverages multiple data providers and thus multiple data maintainers. It is plausible that errors do exist and we welcome all corrections. If you do have a correction to a school district please contact the Administrative Boundaries Data Coordinator. The Montana State Library is the definitive data source for Administrative Boundaries for the Montana Spatial Data Infrastructure Framework. To find the most up-to-date data sources for these Frameworks: https://msl.mt.gov/GIS/msdi.
