Abstract This layer shows the location of facilities recorded in the EPA Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) in Montana in about 2001. Facility owners must report to the TRI if they are within a TRI-reportable industry sector or are federally-owned or operated; if the facility has 10 or more full-time (or equivalent) employees; and if the facility manufactures, processes or otherwise uses a TRI-listed chemical in an amount above the TRI reporting threshold during a calendar year. The State Library made the data available to the public from 2001-2014 through its Digital Atlas application.
