Montana Landfills selected from nationwide coverage of landfill sites obtained from the U.S. Geological Survey. Original data was from National Water Summary 1986 (USGS Water Supply Paper 2325, 1988). Contact person: Ken J. Lanfear (703-648-6852). All points have STATUS = ACTIVE (as of 1986).This layer was removed from the State Library web site after it was replaced by a new layer in 1996. This layer has a few sites that are not shown in the new layer. The sites in this layer generally seem to be placed in the center of the town of the landfill address rather than on an actual landfill site.
