Abstract Georeferenced aerial photographs of the Yellowstone River in Park County, Montana, 1954 and 1955. The data set consists of partially rectified, black and white digital mosaics of historic aerial photos with a horizontal resolution of 2.5 feet, of the Yellowstone River corridor from Gardiner to Springdale, Montana.These photos were scanned from paper copies of U.S. Soil Conservation Service photos obtained from the National Archives.
Purpose The images of the 1954-1955 river corridor were prepared for use in mapping historic changes in planimetric channel features, riparian vegetation and land use of the Upper Yellowstone River corridor. This work was performed in support of the Upper Yellowstone River Cumulative Effects Investigation.
