Abstract Index to areas of Montana covered by high-resolution 2004 and 2002 color orthophotos available at the Montana State Library. These data have been available in an map service called natmap_mt1_svc that is available through the ArcIMS server at http://maps.nris.mt.gov. The service was originally created to serve an early version of the U.S. Geological Survey's online National Map. This service is expected to be retired soon.All of the images were created in 2004 except for the images of Butte, which are from 2002. The downloadable version of all the images except for those of Helena and Butte have been archived because they were processed with a system whose horizontal accuracy has been questioned. The archived images covered the Flathead Valley, Cut Bank, Havre, Great Falls, Sidney, Lewistown, Glendive, Hamilton, Deer Lodge, Anaconda, Miles City, and Glendive.
