Abstract These data show the location of "Montana Department of Environmental Quality High Priority Wetlands" and give the name and ID number of each wetland. No other information is available about the project that listed these wetlands. The data are accompanyed by two Excel spreadsheet documents. One document has a series of spreadsheets that give "Taxonomic Metrics" for each record in the spatial database. The other document spreadsheet has fields with narrative descriptions of the Climatic Setting, Geological Setting, Hydrologic Type, Basin Characteristics, Water Chemistry, Chemical History, and Sediments of each site.The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) provided the data to the State Library in 2001 to allow the display of high priority wetland locations and information in the Digital Atlas application.
