Abstract Townships, Ranges, and Sections in Montana, including section lines "protracted" through unsurveyed areas by the BLM or Forest Service.
Purpose For display of Public Land Survey and for location of features whose legal descriptions are known. More accurate section location data, along with quarter-quarter section data and government lot data, is available in the Geographic Coordinate Database (GCDB). The GCDB, however, does not include data for every section in Montana.

Not for use at scales greater than 1:100000. Not for accurate determination of section corner or property line locations.
