Abstract Planimetric features from the Yellowstone River project collected from air photos of 2004 are represented by photogrammetrically compiled lines, points, and polygons and are stored in feature classes derived from the SDSFIE data design standard. The design file prefix for each entity class name was used for the geodatabase feature class name.The data is split into four ESRI personal geodatabase files, one each for Dawson and Stillwater Counties and one each for the east and west halves of Yellowstone County. Purpose This coverage was created as part of a joint Yellowstone River Conservation Districts Council and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District cumulative impacts study of the Yellowstone River channel and floodplain. The multi-agency interdisciplinary planning study extends 477 river miles from Sweetgrass County, Montana to the Missouri River confluence in McKenzie County, North Dakota. It is specifically intended to support the hydraulic, geomorphic, biologic and socioeconomic analyses that are part of the planning study. The first phase of the mapping focused on Stillwater, Yellowstone and Dawson Counties in Montana and included approximately 295 square miles of floodplain.
